Keysville Tae Kwon Do
We are a Tae Kwon Do Ministry and we are donation based. Humans are Imago Dei, meaning we are created in the image of God and we are to glorify the Lord. One of the many ways we can Glorify the Lord is by training our body and spirit through the Martial Arts. You will not find eastern philosophy here, as Tae Kwon Do is a sport and combative system, with no eastern religion attached. You will however find great instruction in the martial arts, as well as Bible teaching and Theology Proper.
About the Instructor:
My name is Jason Zalva, I hold a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and have studied various styles, to include: Hapkido, Shotokan, Judo, Brazilian Jujitsu and Boxing. I began studying Martial Arts in 1991 and it changed my life. I am a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a veteran Police Officer. Because of my travels, I have studied under many different Master Instructors and have had the privilege of attending law enforcement schools like Situational Situational Use of Force, SWAT 1, and SIG ACADEMY. Most who study martial arts never get the chance to test the effectiveness of their techniques. However, because of my carrier path, I have had the ability to "pressure" test my techniques to find out what works and what just looks cool. I have also attended Liberty University for a degree in Theology and Biblical Studies. The Lord blessed me with a Proverbs 31 wife, three beautiful children and a wonderful church home. The Lord also blessed me with the ability to Preach and Teach, if you are confident in your in your physical ability to defend yourself, you will be more comfortable to stand in the street and preach Christ and Him crucified.

Classes and Times:
Monday and Thursday
Class TBD 5:30-6:00pm
Kids Class, ages 7-12 6:10-7:00pm
Teens/Adults, ages 13+ 7:10-8:30pm
We are a Donation based school, meaning, you pay what the Lord lays on your heart. The only fees that will be required are testings and uniforms/equipment, if purchased through the church. Most schools are over a hundred dollars a month, per student. Because this is a ministry within the church, you pay what you can. Church attendance and/or membership is not required, but will always be encouraged. If you are already part of a good Bible believing church, amen, we do NOT want you to leave your church.
We teach Olympic Style Tae Kwon Do.
However, we are not a Kukkiwon School. We teach the Taeguk Form System and Olympic Style Sparring. The students still will also learn the basics of Boxing, Grappling, and Real World Self Defense. We believe the best fighters must be well rounded in a various of styles of combat.

Along with Tae Kwon Do, the student will learn Biblical Doctrine, such as the Fruit of the Spirit. One which is Meekness, many confuse meekness with weakness, however that could not be further from the truth. A broken horse is meek, yet it is still strong, but obeys the master. To be meek is strength under control. As martial arts practitioner, we are to be strong and disciplined, "strength under control." We are not a belt factory, students will earn their belts here and understand the
importance of, the easiest path, is not always the best path.
